The brief from Krukzeiner Properties to BGT Structures was to strengthen the building to 100%NBS, a challenging prospect for a turn of the century building with brick walls.

However on closer examination the original building was found to have good bones. Built in two stages the original structure was designed to house a telephone exchange.
